Will a 70-Year-Old John Deere Lime Spreader Still Work?

To improve PH levels in our pumpkin patch soil, we went to Facebook Marketplace to find a lime spreader that we could use with agricultural lime from a quarry not far from our home. What we got was a John Deere Model H Lime spreader from the 1950s that had been sitting in a barn for decades.
