Key Steps
1. Open the Trade Colour Settings 0:10
Navigate to the management/settings area for trade colours.
Locate the section where all trades and subcontractors are stored in one place.
Confirm you are viewing the correct trade colour management screen before making changes.
2. Review Pre-Populated Trade Categories 0:32
Check the available pre-populated trade categories.
Identify whether the trade you need already exists.
If the trade is already listed, proceed to edit it instead of creating a duplicate.
3. Edit an Existing Trade Colour 0:50
Select the trade colour you want to change.
Click Edit.
Update the trade colour name or setting as needed.
Example: change the colour to Indigo if required.
Save or update the record to apply the changes.
4. Save the Updated Trade Colour 1:00
Confirm the updated trade colour appears correctly after saving.
Verify the change was applied successfully.
If the update did not save correctly, repeat the edit and save process.
5. Add a New Trade or Subcontractor 1:10
Click Add Trade or Supply.
Enter the required details, including:
Name
Main/primary contact
Contact details
Trade category
Insurance information
Any other relevant site or compliance details
Attach any supporting documents if required.
Save the new record so it is available for future use.
Cautionary Notes
Do not create duplicate trade records if the trade already exists in the pre-populated list.
Double-check spelling and contact details before saving.
Ensure insurance and compliance information is current before adding a trade or subcontractor.
If you edit a trade colour, confirm the update is visible after saving.
Tips for Efficiency
Use the pre-populated categories first to save time.
Keep trade and subcontractor records complete so they can be reused later without searching for missing information.
Attach documents at the time of entry to avoid returning later for compliance uploads.
Standardise naming conventions for easier searching and reporting.
