I've always had a soft spot for mansions and this tour takes you to Hahkiala, the manor house favoured by our presidents, ghosts and foodies. This historical estate is surrounded by three lakes, a large wetland and a baroque garden in the heart of Häme region in Hauho. The history of the mansions dates back to 17th century and the rooms are named after our presidents (who visited the mansion). And those of you who are into ghost stories... There's a bad lieutenant, but luckily he's the only nasty undead. The others are friendly ones, there's a a little girl who leaves hand prints on windows, a cleaning lady passionate on hoovering... Especially the first lady of our all first ladies, Ester Ståhlberg, loved the mansion, and on the video I'm reading poems she wrote on the mansion's guest book.
