Force of Evil (1948) | The Blacklisted Film Noir Masterpiece [Full Movie]

Force of Evil (1948) is Abraham Polonsky’s rhythmic, poetic film noir masterpiece. Presented here in its full-length entirety by Ivanov Cinema Classics. Widely regarded by film critics, as well as Martin Scorsese, as one of the greatest crime dramas of classic Hollywood cinema, Force of Evil features John Garfield in his definitive, tragic performance alongside a stellar turn by Thomas Gomez. Polonsky used blank-verse dialogue and expressionistic cinematography to critique corporate greed—a bold artistic choice that ultimately caused him to be blacklisted by Hollywood during the McCarthy era. Perfect for film students, cinephiles, and lovers of vintage crime fiction. 🎬 TIMESTAMPS & CHAPTERS 00:00 - 00:18 Intro & Teaser 00:18 - 12:33 The Million Dollar Plan 12:33 - 26:58 A Brother’s Refusal 26:58 - 41:28 The Independence Day Trap 41:28 - 55:48 The Raid & Syndicate Takeover 55:48 - 1:08:33 Escalating Violence & Wiretaps 1:08:33 - 1:19:18 Climax: The Bottom of the World ✨ ABOUT THE FILM • Starring: John Garfield, Thomas Gomez, Beatrice Pearson, Marie Windsor • Director: Abraham Polonsky • Genre: Film Noir / Crime Drama / Classic Cinema / Hollywood Melodrama • Release Year: 1948 🔔 SUPPORT THE HUB: If you enjoyed this curated classic movie, please like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to support the channel! 💬 COMMUNITY DISCUSSION: How do you feel about Abraham Polonsky’s unique, poetic dialogue style?
