Myrient: The Shadow Library For Roms Will Shutdown By March 31st, But There's Good News

A little known website called Myrient which specializes in game preservation will be shutting down on March 31, 2026. It offers a plethora of classic video game titles from yesteryear that have been long forgotten about by their original rightsholder(s) and/or publisher and are no longer being sold in retail to consumers. I go over what lead up to this "extinction level event" all of the sudden, the existential threat it has towards game preservation and what you can do stave off the short-term pain for the mean time.
