Ten chains across America are closing stores right now, or have already closed the last one, and most of them never told their customers where to go next. From Outback Steakhouse, Value City Furniture, 7-Eleven, and JCPenney to Joe's Crab Shack, Torrid, Bob Evans, Haynes Furniture and The Dump, Red Robin, and Stop & Shop, this video looks at what is closing, why it is closing, and who owns each chain: a furniture chain whose leftovers were bought back by the same family, a steakhouse that suspended its dividend and still lost customers, and a seafood restaurant reopening under a new sign with the same owner. Then we follow the three places shoppers are actually going: Aldi, Texas Roadhouse, and Wawa. The biggest question at a closed store is not why it closed — it is where you go next.
