Sand Mountain Nevada Pt.2 * Trucks Stuck at Sand Camp

X Country Adventures is on there way to Sand Mountain for the Halloween week of 2020. A small layover in Fallon Nevada and then onto Sand Mountain just down the road. We found ourselves in a bit of trouble trying to get into our sand camp. Dewey sunk his truck to the axles and several other 4x4's had a tuff time as well. Time to unload the Can Am X3 Maverick Turbo R and hit the desert trails for some sxs ( side by side ) fun. Location - Sand Mountain Nevada The 4,795 acre Sand Mountain Recreation Area is a designated OHV fee site located in the high desert of west central Nevada twenty-five miles south east of Fallon on U.S. 50. Created by the migration and deposition of windblown sand as it is stopped by the rising Stillwater Mountains bordering to the north, east and west, the most dominant feature of the dune system is Sand Mountain which is approximately 3.5 miles long, 1 mile wide and 600 feet in height, making it the largest single dune in the Great Basin.
