Is Portmeirion Worth the Entrance Fee? We Found Out

Is Portmeirion worth visiting and is the entrance fee actually worth the money? We spent a full day exploring Portmeirion Village in North Wales to find out, from its colourful Italian-inspired architecture and coastal walks to the gardens, shops, restaurants and some surprisingly hidden parts of the village. Portmeirion is one of the most unusual places to visit in Wales. Designed with Mediterranean and Italian influences, the colourful village feels completely different from almost anywhere else in the UK. During our visit we explore the main Portmeirion Village, have lunch, head towards the coast and lighthouse, attempt to find the woodland and Japanese Garden, explore the shops and learn more about the history of this unique Welsh attraction. We also happened to visit during a Steampunk festival, which made an already unusual day even more interesting.
