Spiritual Beings | "Stuck on the Witch of Endor"

298 | Geektober | Peer Into the Spiritual Realm - Grab your nerd glasses — Geektober is officially here! We're kicking off our annual monthlong deep dive by pulling back the curtain on the unseen realm to ask: what's the deal with spiritual beings? From angels and demons to cherubim, seraphim, watchers, and the divine council, why does the Bible give us so many mysterious names without handing us an official field guide? How can the Hebrew word Elohim describe both the Creator of the universe and the departed prophet Samuel conjured by the Witch of Endor? Why did Jesus disarm cosmic principalities at the cross like a TSA security checkpoint? And what does a massive unseen war have to do with losing your patience in the grocery checkout line? Join us as we break out our three sorting questions — allegiance, rank, and function — to make sense of the unseen realm and marvel at the King who rules over it all! - 00:00 Welcome to Geektober 01:10 Fall Vibes and Nerd Mode 02:23 Why Study Spiritual Beings 03:35 Our Mental Images 05:59 Avoiding Weird Obsession 08:31 What's the Deal With Spiritual Beings? 12:52 Three Sorting Questions 15:20 Allegiance Good vs Evil 20:03 Elohim Explained 22:39 Rank and Hierarchy 27:52 Function and Job Descriptions 30:36 Throne Room Guardians 34:10 Dark Side Destruction 36:01 Jesus Over All Powers 41:44 Disarmed Authorities 45:47 Living the Bigger Story 47:48 Wrap Up and Next Episode - Find the Show Notes at http://biblegeeks.fm/podcast/298 - #Bible #TheBibleGeeks #BiblePodcast
