June 2024 This is an i8 i bought from Woot. It worked for about 4 months then it stopped working due to error 26. after googling and reddit it I found this was a common problem and was able to find a part to replace on ebay. That was my first attempt to fix it. Note i kinda messed the fixing a bit but the vaccum was able to work for about 5 more months, then again got error 26. I contacted the same guy that originally helped me and he suggested to buy the whole motor which i did. Again Ebay to the rescue! This is the video where I replace the motor and i am happy to say that my roomba is back operational and working better! 00:00:07 remove the bottom cover, 5 screws including the sweeping brush one 00:00:31 remove the brush module, it is 4 smaller screws. This is where we will be working on, the motor is attached the the brush module 00:00:45 this is the motor to replace. 4 screws the first two are easy the last two are a bit tricky. a slim screw driver might help trace the cable, new cable has to follow same path. i suggest to take a couple of pictures of the path of the cable 00:01:20 remove the connector. i found it easier if i twist it with the left site towards me. remove the cable and motor, add new cable and connect it 00:02:34 place the new motor back in, it only fits in one way, screw it to the brush module 00:02:56 place the brush module back on the body of the vaccum. make sure the screws are aligned and push slightly so the connectors attach to the body. Screw it back in. 00:03:11 put the cover back in, 5 screws and test!!!!
