WILDFIRE INCIDENT REPORT (DAY 2) Type of Incident : Forest and Land Fire / Wildfire Location Coordinates : Approximate coordinates for the fire boundary between Belimau and Bengkuring are -0.419213, 117.189531. ______________________________________________________________________ 📍 Location Details Primary Area : Jalan Belimau (bordering the Bengkuring area / near Limau Asri Housing Complex) Sub-district : Lempake District : Samarinda Utara (North Samarinda) City : Samarinda, East Kalimantan ______________________________________________________________________ 📊 Timeline & Impact Incident Date & Time : Sunday, September 6, 2026. The fire flared back up in the afternoon at around 02:10 PM WITA and was fully extinguished by midnight. Total Burned Area: The wildfire temporarily destroyed an estimated 20.,5 Hectares of land as it crept from Belimau toward Bengkuring. Brief Chronology : This was the second day of the wildfire crisis. Due to extreme heat, dry grass, and shifting winds, the fire flared up again and aggressively moved toward the Bengkuring sector. The fire line dangerously approached populated zones, closing in to about 200 meters away from residents' houses, causing severe respiratory hazards and panic. Casualties & Injuries : No fatalities or burned houses were reported. However, several volunteer firefighters suffered from shortness of breath due to heavy smoke exposure and fatigue. ______________________________________________________________________ 🚒 Response & On-Site Obstacles Responding Units : Over 30 emergency volunteers worked in shifts alongside the Samarinda Fire and Rescue Department and the City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Samarinda) to contain the fire. Extreme Terrain Obstacles: The response teams faced an extremely brutal and muddy terrain. Firefighters had to wade through knee-deep to waist-deep mud while carrying heavy portable equipment and backpack pumps (back pump) to reach the active hotspots deep inside the field.
