The Giant Dipper is a historic wooden roller coaster at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in California that opened on May 17, 1924. Designed by Frederick Church and built in just 47 days by Arthur Looff for $50,000, the ride features a 70-foot height, a 65-foot drop, a 2,640-foot track, and a top speed of 55 mph. Designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1987, this classic seaside attraction has thrilled more than 68 million riders over its century of operation.
