MG Hector Tomahawk EV – Kochi to Athirapilly Falls & back! ⚡🚙 MG invited me for the Hector Tomahawk EV National Media Drive in Kochi, and I drove the new electric SUV from Kochi to Athirapilly Falls and back — covering around 170 km. In this video, I bring you a complete walkaround and detailed drive review of the MG Hector Tomahawk EV — its design, size, interior, features, performance, ride comfort, practicality, battery, range, charging and, most importantly, whether the pricing makes sense. At 4,745 mm long, the Hector Tomahawk EV is a seriously large SUV. For perspective, it is roughly in the same overall length territory as the Toyota Innova Hycross. Yet, the Tomahawk EV starts at ₹19.49 lakh and goes up to ₹23.49 lakh ex-showroom. Under the floor sits a 69.2 kWh battery pack powering a front-mounted electric motor producing 204 PS and 310 Nm. MG claims a 517 km MIDC range, while DC fast charging is supported at up to 90 kW. The Tomahawk EV is also available in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations. And this is where things get interesting. At this price point, the Hector Tomahawk EV brings a much larger footprint and a substantially bigger battery than several smaller EVs in the same broad price territory. The Maruti Suzuki e VITARA gets 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options, while the Hyundai CRETA Electric and Kia Carens Clavis EV use 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options. The Tomahawk also enters the territory of the Mahindra XEV 9S and XEV 9e, making its ₹19.49–₹23.49 lakh positioning particularly interesting. The XEV 9S, for example, starts at ₹19.95 lakh but its range extends up to ₹29.45 lakh depending on variant.
