K’gari (Fraser Island) 4WD Camping Adventure | Our First Trip to the Island

Our first 4WD camping adventure on K’gari (Fraser Island)! We start with a night at Rainbow Beach before crossing from Inskip Point to Hook Point and setting off along 75 Mile Beach for an unforgettable few days exploring the island. Travelling with our Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 and OPUS camper, we beach camped in Zone 6 and explored some of K’gari’s most iconic places, including the Maheno Shipwreck, Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora), Central Station, Lake Wabby, Eurong and the incredible eastern beach. This was our first time taking the camper to K’gari and one of our biggest 4WD camping adventures yet. We were travelling as part of an OPUS convoy, but there was still plenty for us to learn — from planning around the tides and driving 75 Mile Beach to tackling K’gari’s sandy inland tracks.
