Port Sunlight Station has an unusual story.
Opened in 1914 as Port Sunlight Halt, it was originally provided for the workers of Lever Brothers and wasn't opened to the general public until 1927.
In this episode of Station2Station, we visit Port Sunlight to explore the relationship between the railway, the famous model village and the thousands of people whose working lives were connected with Lever Brothers.
Today, trains still call at Port Sunlight, but behind this modest station lies a fascinating piece of Britain's industrial and social history.
Join me as we discover another story from Britain's railway past.
