In this video, I build a custom 3S (11.1V) battery pack using salvaged 18650 cells from an old laptop battery!
🔋 What's covered:
Components required (cells, battery holder, BMS, heat shrink tubing)
Connection diagram explained (3S configuration)
Soldering the battery pack
Load testing the finished pack
This is a great beginner-friendly project if you want to repurpose old laptop battery cells into a usable power pack for your electronics or robotics projects. I walk through the wiring, safety precautions while soldering lithium cells, and how the BMS protects the pack from over-charge/over-discharge/short circuit.
🛠️ Components Used:
Salvaged 18650 Li-ion cells (3S configuration)
3S battery holder
3S BMS (Battery Management System)
Heat shrink tubing
Soldering iron & accessories
⚠️ Disclaimer: Working with lithium-ion cells can be dangerous if done incorrectly. Please take proper safety precautions, use a BMS, and never leave charging cells unattended.
