“Would you use a camera that shows tomorrow—or destroy it without taking another picture?”
camera that predicts the future
I never bought the camera.
I never ordered it.
One morning, it was simply sitting on my porch in rural Vinton County, Ohio.
A heavy, matte-black vintage camera with one strange message stamped into the metal:
PROPERTY OF TOMORROW.
At first, I thought it was an old piece of equipment someone had abandoned.
Then I looked through the viewfinder.
The dead fern on my porch was alive.
The next morning, it was exactly like the camera showed me.
That should have been enough to make me put the camera away.
Instead, I started taking pictures of everything.
A neighbor.
My house.
My wife's car.
The propane tank.
And eventually…
myself.
What the camera showed me in that final photograph made me realize something terrifying:
Maybe the camera doesn't show you the future.
Maybe it shows you the future that happens *if you change nothing.*
This is a fictional psychological horror story set in Vinton County, Ohio, created in the style of realistic American horror and unexplained small-town mysteries.
