Stretch of coastline is Middle Devonian sedimentary rock strata, mainly red sandstone with lower glauconite green strata below the predominantly upper section of red coloured Middle Devonian sandstone layers. Glauconite lower base of strata is clearly visible at the Clett sea stack area at ND 14497 26377. Family of five grey herons south of Dunbeath.
