Why can veterans stay calm in a real emergency, then snap over lost keys, traffic, or the Wi-Fi dropping? I spent 13 years in the Marine Corps and deployed to Afghanistan, and I do this too. The military gives you an on/off switch. It doesn't give you a volume knob. You get really good at going from 0 to 100 and back to zero, but civilian life is mostly twos out of ten, and your system still responds like it's a ten. Understanding that doesn't excuse it, but it does give you a chance to do something about it. In this video I break down why this happens, what I'm doing to manage it, and what families of veterans should (and shouldn't) say when it happens at home. What's the dumbest thing you've ever flown off the handle about? Drop it in the comments. I'll share some of mine too. 🤝 The Warrior's Journey, if you need someone to talk to: https://twj.org 📞 Veterans Crisis Line: dial 988, then press 1, or visit https://www.veteranscrisisline.net #Veterans #MilitaryLife #VeteranMentalHealth
