Kandha Sashti Kavasam is a Hindu devotional song on Lord Muruga, the son of Lord Shiva. This Kavasam begins with a Virutham about it. In this Viruththam, five devotees (dancers) explain to each other about this Virutham and the different Rituals that occur in the six days to receive blessings from Lord Muruga. There are various rituals done during this dancing which includes, lighting the lamp, wiring Om Saravanabhava, fasting, and praying.
