Many older electronic devices came with unpolarized AC power cords. Back in the day that was OK as the manuals came with specific proper grounding instructions. This however, does not eliminated the possibility of being shocked. The same issue is famous among-st tube guitar amplifiers. Many reports of players being shocked from a HOT chassis. A very dangerous situation which can easily be remedied with a modern 3 prong grounded AC cord. The procedure takes approx 1 hour.
