DESERT is part 3 of OUTBOUND, a five-song series about crossing the space between an abandoned life and an unfinished self. By now, the excitement of leaving is gone. The road is no longer freedom in any romantic sense. It is distance, heat, silence, and the growing realization that escape does not automatically create a new identity. There is no one here to explain what comes next. No witness. No rescuer. No convenient sign pointing toward the person you are supposed to become. DESERT is about the point where movement stops feeling like liberation and starts becoming survival. The old life is gone, but the new one has not arrived yet.
