INFERNO thematisiert die Flutkatastrophe im Ahrtal im Juli 2021. Das Stück erzählt aus der Sicht der Menschen, die im inneren Konflikt zwischen Angst, Hoffnung, Flucht und Reflexion stehen. Es beginnt ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit. Maria Isabella Sturm gewann mit INFERNO den 1. Preis des Internationalen Kompositionswettbewerbs der International Tuba and Euphonium Association ITEA in der Kategorie Solo für Euphonium mit Klavierbegleitung (Mittelstufe). Maria Sturm won 1st prize with the piece “INFERNO” in the Composition Competition for the 2023 ITEC, in the modality of Intermediate solo for Euphonium with Piano accompaniment, on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the International Tuba and Euphonium Association ITEA.
