This 1968 Chevrolet Bel Air Station Wagon has traveled just 24,426 miles in nearly six decades. It still wears its original paint and interior. And its most important story has nothing to do with horsepower.
Some classic cars survive because collectors preserve them. Others survive because their history keeps them close to the people who matter.
Join Two Guys and a Ride as we meet Mike and explore this unusual Chevrolet Bel Air survivor, once used as a funeral flower wagon.
Its story begins around Quincy and Ursa, Illinois, with ties to the Rod Smith dealership. After spending years covered in a garage beginning in 1994, a family offer brought the wagon back into the daylight in 2018.
Inside, you'll find original paperwork, old maps, registration documents, an AM radio, and a working key-operated rear window. Even the spacious cargo area and rear shades tell part of this wagon's unusual working history.
But stay for Mike's personal story about his late brother-in-law. It's a reminder that sometimes a car holds memories no photograph or specification sheet will ever fully explain.
Have you ever kept a vehicle because of the person or memories connected to it? We'd love to hear your story in the comments.
