GERSHWIN "Someone to Watch Over Me" (for Solo Flugelhorn with Piano)

This year, I have two pieces to celebrate the birthday of the late and great George Gershwin (check back next week for a very special new arrangement!). This is our setting of “Someone to Watch Over Me.” Previously, I presented this in a version with my trumpet, but this time, I’m playing it in a warm, “chocolatey” sounding flugelhorn. All our sheet music is incredibly versatile, playable by multiple instruments in multiple keys. Sheet music for this is available here: https://www.matonizz.com/product/some... This beautiful and heartfelt ballad, interestingly, did not start out that way. The original markings in the music indicated it to be performed playful and jazzy (this was also the case for his tune, “The Man I Love”). Only later, when it was recorded by many artists in the 1930s and 40s did it become the slow, sentimental song we know today. I hope you’ll enjoy Gershwin’s greatest “torch song” in this new arrangement.
