🤫 Reasons why NOT to to go RISD (for Industrial Design)

Based on personal experience 5 reasons you should NOT go to RISD for Industrial design undergrad: 1. Program is very fine arts & conceptual based, and not practical enough to get a job. (Entire first year is drawing + 2D + sculpture.) 2. Program is very traditional and focuses heavily on made-by-hand. Lacks the teaching of updated / relevant technological skills (Ex. CAD, computer drawing & renderings) 3. Many teaching staff are not practicing professionals. 4. In recent years taking in too many students, resulting in short of staff and class un-availability. 5. Expensive.
