That Time Doctor Who DIED…

In 2012 Doctor Who’s 6th series aired in 2 halves. After the success of Series 5, there was a lot of pressure and excitement for this series as it had also been doing filming in America and tapping into that market in the show. So they had to open it very fittingly, which I think they did. My first 2 episodes of my favourite show was where the main character dies immediately, how could I not be hooked? Despite the mixed resolutions at the end, these first 2 episodes are top tier episodes of the show for me, I want to look at why this massive scale opening works so well and what maybe doesn’t, and why after so many years it’s retained its spot as an all time favourite.
