Road Defense Racing Review – Is This $3.99 Steam Game Worth It? (8-Bit Combat Racer Like Mario Kart with Guns)Is Road Defense Racing worth $3.99 on Steam? We review this budget indie vehicular combat racing game from Mini Cactus Games — a high-speed 8-bit racer with 30 unique tracks, weapons, car upgrades, destruction, and chaotic combat.Think Super Nintendo Mario Kart… if Mario Kart had rocket launchers, shotguns, landmines, artillery strikes, alien ships, trains, and hostile crowds trying to kill you. Drive, shoot, destroy rivals, run over people, and earn cash to upgrade your vehicle. In this $5 game review:What we liked: Retro 8-bit pixel art style, fun unique tracks and events, satisfying weapons and destruction, simple controls (better with controller), fair AI, and the “being bad pays” upgrade loop. What we didn’t like: Unclear upgrade effects (tires and body felt weak), overpowered rocket launcher that one-shots everything, and AI cars that don’t fight each other enough. Final verdict: Yes, we’d pay $3.99 for it. Fun chaotic arcade racer that’s great for short sessions or local multiplayer with friends.
