The Jacksons - Can You Feel It (Original Recording Speed)

Altering the speed and pitch of tape recordings was a common practice in music production, used for various reasons such as achieving more punchiness or increasing the overall pitch. These changes were done using a Variable Speed Oscillator (VSO), a control on a tape machine that allowed the speed and pitch to be altered during playback. Using the leaked multitracks, which appear to have been transferred without VSO, I was able to restore the songs to their original recording speed. The only exceptions are "Time Waits For No One", and "Give It Up", where the tempo differences either didn't exist or were so small that they were very likely just differences between transfers. The speed differences are: Can You Feel It - 1,1385% Lovely One - 4,5769% Your Ways - 0,9215% Everybody - 4,5139% Heartbreak Hotel - 1,8953% Time Waits For No One - N/A Walk Right Now - 2,4619% Give It Up - N/A Wondering Who - 5,3083% Keep in mind that these percentages are not exact values. This doesn't mean that the restorations are inaccurate, but rather that, unlike with Michael Jackson's Bad album, I'm not working with documented VSO values. Instead, I'm matching one source to another.
