Canary in a Coal Mine | Odd Squad s2 Animatic

Uh. Bet you guys didn’t expect this one haha I started rewatching season 2 of Odd Squad a while ago after not watching it since the season originally came out, and I may like it even more than I used to somehow—so I made a 4 minute long animatic in literally one week about my favorite character: agent Otis!! :D I really really like Otis, I liked him then and I like him now. For a character from a pbs kids show about math, he has one of the most heartwrenching storylines I’ve ever seen??? Like??? Olympia is pretty much the first real friend he’s ever had and he loves her sososo much and he literally admits in the season premiere that he’s never said this many words to anyone before!! He’s more open with her than he’s ever been in his whole life!! But even despite that he can’t bring himself to tell her about what his life was before working at Odd Squad because he’s terrified that if she finds out, she won’t want to be a part of his life anymore. In a way, him and that canary are more similar to each other than one would think, both living their lives with the inevitable worst-case scenario waiting for them in the future, biding their time until the symbolic fumes are too much and there’s no going back. —— Characters used: Agent Otis, Agent Olympia, Ms. O (once), a couple unnamed ducks (All from Odd Squad season 2) Programs: Toonsquid 8fps (animation), Procreate (thumbnail) Audio: Canary in a Coal Mine by the Crane Wives Time taken: 1 week (holy lock in omg)
