Growing Masdevallia Orchids in Warm Environments! Making the Switch to Clay Media!

Hi everyone, I'm Annabel, and welcome to my channel! :-) Today I’m going to be repotting my Masdevallia paivaeana from moss into semi-hydro with Seramis. The effect of using a moisture-retentive clay media with a ceramic outer pot has been quite noticeable for my Masdevallias, either in self-watering or semi-hydro. This is possibly due to the cooling effect of clay media in my warm environment (currently 18-25 degrees Celcius). I don’t have a full explanation, but after 6 months of testing and initial hesitance, I’m finally willing to convert the rest of my Masdies to this set up :-) Also a sneak peak of my Restrepia cuprea in the outro ;-) I've invested in a proper mic so hopefully the sound quality is improved! :-) Sources for more information Masdevallia paivaeana http://www.orchidspecies.com/maspaive...
