The Universal Audio 610B preamp has been a long standing popular preamp. This tube pre has some unique characteristics compared to other tube pres. However the budget minded home studio may not readily have access to outboard gear to demo with. So to help with this today we are going to do a little shootout or comparison, and see how emulation (software) stacks up against the real thing (hardware). Our focus will be the impact of the sound when recording the snare drum. Preamps used in this video: Hardware: UA 610B (as part of a Universal Audio 6176 Tube Channel Strip): https://amzn.to/4b2yb2L ** This is the same preamp as the Universal Audio 610 solo: https://amzn.to/3U0Gmqn Software: UAD 610B If you purchase through the above links, I'll make a tiny commission. That'll make me super happy, as I could buy more drums!
