Understanding the NCA’s Indigenous Law and Peoples requirement? This video explains CPLED’s Indigenous Peoples and the Law (IPL) course, who needs to complete it, how registration works, and what students must do to pass. Designed for candidates with no prior knowledge of the course, this guide explains the process from checking your NCA requirements to completing IPL and having results reported to the NCA. What the video covers: The March 1, 2026 effective date and the assessment-date rule. Who must meet the requirement, including considerations for previously assessed candidates and later file reviews. The purpose of IPL and alternatives that may be accepted by the NCA. Tuition, applicable taxes, payment methods, and registration. Taking IPL alongside other NCA examinations. Online delivery, estimated study hours, and D2L learning resources. The course timeline, including the published IPL 2027 Intake 1 dates. A brief overview of the published curriculum themes. Practical study methods and final-assessment preparation. Module quizzes: five MCQs per quiz and the 100% progression requirement. Coursework completion and assessment-booking deadlines. The final assessment: 60 MCQs, 90 minutes, virtual proctoring, and a minimum passing score of 70%. The difference between module-quiz attempts, one final-assessment re-attempt, and repeating the entire course. What happens if both final-assessment attempts are unsuccessful. Technology checks, accommodations, missed deadlines, and emergencies. Results reporting and checking your NCA record.
