If Harry had kept back a single mouthful of liquid luck that night, where does the Felix send him the moment Draco Malfoy steps through the door? The bottle arrives in the Gryffindor common room half-empty. Harry presses it into Ron, Hermione, and Ginny's hands before walking out with Dumbledore on the night the headmaster falls. Three drinkers survive the battle without a scratch. Bill Weasley's face is torn open by Fenrir Greyback. Neville takes a fall that puts him in the hospital wing. Luna Lovegood walks away untouched—no potion, no luck, no explanation. The tally doesn't line up the way it should. Follow the order of events and the Felix vanishes off the page entirely. There is no scene of it being drunk, no cork pulled, no golden glow. Afterwards, the story simply moves on and leaves the question behind: did the luck fail when it mattered most, or was it working in ways nobody gives it credit for? The real cost of that night wasn't paid in the common room or on the stairs. It was paid in a doorway at the top of the Astronomy Tower, where Harry stood under his Invisibility Cloak while the headmaster cast a silent spell that pinned him to the stone. Two protections left Harry's side that night—one in a bottle, one in a spell that Dumbledore gave him when the luck ran out.
