"It's never done properly. I hate doing it - I detest washing up!" A look at the seemingly eternal struggles and rituals that exist around the washing up bowl. Five-year-old Ellen is determined to avoid her turn at the sink, student Penny dreams that the five guys in her house might one day do their fair share of the dishes, while grizzled dishwashing professional George, 69, works methodically - and musically - through the piles of dishes in a busy transport cafe.
