Conveyor belt repair with Multiface 40

This video shows how to repair typical conveyor belt damages using the patented Multiface® vulcanising material: Long rip Side rip Belt edge damage Surface damage Wide hole Splice damage The repair was carried out using Multiface 40 in cans instead of the usual Multiface 1.5 in double cartridges. Due to this change, the pot life has been adapted to allow enough time for manual mixing and application to wide surfaces. This is the standard packaging used in some countries for long rips and very wide surfaces. Despite the long pot life (40 minutes), the belt is ready for use in less than 3 hours at +23°C/73°F or below, even at temperatures below 0°C/32°F, when using a heat gun. Multiface® generally achieves very good adhesion to rubber without the need for any preparation involving solvents or adhesion promoters due to the same chemical cross-linking as in hot vulcanisation. Therefore, the job can be carried out in all weather conditions, including direct sunlight, below the dew point, and in drizzle or snowfall.
