This month, I'm focusing on the climbing roses in our north-facing area. It's a unique challenge, but it also creates a beautiful, extended display. Because this spot gets partial shade, the sun exposure differs greatly along the wall. The result? My climbing roses are putting on a staggered blooming show right now! Instead of all flowering at once, the sections that catch a bit more morning sun are weeks ahead of the shadier parts. Climbing Iceberg: A reliable white rose that puts on a fantastic show of clusters and handles shade well, though you'll see fewer blooms in the deepest shade . New Dawn: A classic and vigorous climber with soft flesh-pink blooms, known for tolerating shade and repeat flowering all summer . 🌱 Tips for Growing in Partial Shade: Patience is key: Expect a later start and a longer, more drawn-out flowering period compared to roses in full sun.
