Enable captions for text commentary A new hardest after almost one year. To be honest I used to make fun of this map and its OST a lot, but both have grown on me. I really love the intensity curve and overwhelming nature of this map. Speaking of which, I'm genuinely so glad that THIS chaos is my hardest FE2 map now, because I'm absolutely sick of having a new hardest that's just some stupid layout like Sand Pillar, Eternal Punishment Remake, or Grassland. (no hate to these maps tho they're good) MAP INFO Creators: ‪@Luxidium‬, Cosmifield, vfxdraco, mrflip04, hicksmn00, CapnPhantom Map ID: 4gei9c3 Difficulty: ⭐7.46 Time spent: 2 days / ~4 hours total OST Composer: vfxdraco OST:    • FE2CM OST // Nuclear Depths v4.4 (+FLP)   PERSONAL RATINGS (yap warning) Design: 8.5/10 I'm not one to pay attention to design but there's definitely a lot going on. I'm SO glad the debris do NOT cover up obstacles (seriously do you even know how many maps do that it's so damn annoying) and many aspects of the map really give off the "nuclear depths" theme (NOT LIKE OTHER MAPS) Gameplay: 8/10 Good enough for me to even play the map. There are many flaws such as RNG slide barriers, ramps where you pretty much guess for the highest point, really sudden flatsides, and.. yeah (edit: i just found out the flatsides are intentional) Pacing: 9.5/10 This map uses the "give the player time to get used to the first half before pacing really gets strict later" tactic, which is greatly underrated. I also like that the door pacer is far enough in the map to not feel forced, and it also evens out the ping reliant teleporters before it. The ending pace checks are also REALLY consistent, and you can really keep track of your pacing in the heat of the moment. The way this map utilizes pacing is really fair game in my opinion OST: 9.5/10 It's really uncommon for FE2 OSTs to have a tempo above 300 BPM, and this OST really utilizes it well. The extremely rapid speed of the tower section really suits its extreme intensity with all the sirens, screen shakes, and other overwhelming factors. The melody itself is really repetitive, but I think it's because the map's sound effects cover up the song to the point where it's more like a BGM to make things more chaotic. Same thing with the outside section, because it's extremely repetitive but it's supposed to fit with the tension of the final section, with the bass slowly building up and the tempo gradually increasing as you reach the final stretch. I wish I could give this a 10, but I unfortunately have to deduct a point because if you're listening to this OST alone, without the context of the map, it just doesn't really hit the same. On a side note, it was really fun to make the commentary (enabled via captions) sync with the music and make this video a bit more intense. Enjoyment: 9/10 It was really bad at first, but my consistency built up really quickly and it couldn't have gone any better. Failing the same exact section in the tower (at 2:24) was really annoying but it wasn't demotivating because I could actually get there many times in a row and it made me so confident that I could beat the map. I only failed the outside section 5 times, which was enough to not get pissed off every time I failed there. Personal difficulty: ⭐7.28 (cba to understand how 7.0+ difficulties work) Flaws: Very shaky at all times, which is hard on the eyes Some screen flashes happen at the worst jumps The cutscene and teleporters are both RNG on high ping Many platforms, even perfectly flat ones, can flatside for no apparent reason (edit: they're intentional lol) Unclear platform hitboxes at the tower A LOT of blind jumps that require memory and instinct Game: https://www.roblox.com/games/11951199...
