The skies over France had become a battlefield. In May 1940, as German forces advanced through France, Allied aircraft faced increasingly dangerous missions against the Luftwaffe. RAF fighter pilots were tasked with protecting vulnerable bomber formations from German fighters. Among them was the Hawker Hurricane Mk I, one of Britain's most important fighters of the Second World War. In this War Thunder historical-inspired mission, six Hurricane Mk Is escort eight Bristol Blenheim bombers against twelve Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 fighters. The mission is simple: protect the bombers and survive the encounter. But with twelve German fighters attacking, can the Hurricanes hold the line? MISSION RESULTS ✈️ Aircraft flown: Hawker Hurricane Mk I 🎯 Personal kills: 6 💥 German fighters destroyed: 12 🛩️ Blenheims surviving: 7 out of 8 🛬 Landing: Successful This is a fictionalised War Thunder mission inspired by the fighting over France in May 1940, not an exact recreation of a single historical engagement. If you enjoyed this WWII aviation recreation, leave a comment: would you fly the Hurricane or the Bf 109? Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next sortie!
