Ancient Scottish Gaelic Folk Songs｜Tales from the Highlands

Hello everyone 🌿 This time, I wanted to share something a little different from the usual Echoes of Alba atmosphere. This collection features original Scottish folk songs inspired by ancient Gaelic music and old Highland storytelling traditions — intimate tales of sailors lost at sea, lonely harbours, village weddings, harsh winters, tavern nights, forgotten legends, and quiet lives beneath the skies of Alba. Each piece was created to capture the feeling of old Scottish Gaelic songs passed down through generations, while remaining entirely original compositions. Soft Gaelic vocals, acoustic folk melodies, fiddle, flute, and warm traditional instrumentation come together to recreate the atmosphere of remote Highland villages, candlelit homes, and coastal taverns lost in time. Featured stories include: 01. The Fisherman Who Never Returned 02. The Wedding Beneath the Rowan Trees 03. She Waits by the Harbour Light 04. Winter Over Glen Coe 05. Farewell to Skye 06. May Fires in the Highlands 07. The Tale of the Grey Stag 08. Ale and Songs at MacRae’s Tavern 09. The Shepherd of the Northern Hills 10. The Candlemaker’s Daughter Since the songs are performed in old Scottish Gaelic, there’s a good chance most listeners won’t understand every word — but that’s also part of the experience. The emotion, the voices, and the atmosphere are meant to carry the stories beyond language itself. The atmosphere remains calm, emotional, and deeply rooted in the spirit of ancient Scotland throughout the entire journey.
