LAS VEGAS STRIP FLOODED — True Flash Flood Scenes: Cars Stranded, Roads Closed

Flash flooding from the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel swept across the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as the city tied an all-time daily October rainfall record with 1.08 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service. Police closed roads near East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane and some drivers were stranded, while heavy rain also left rocks and debris on the streets of Bullhead City, Arizona. Rachel had already been downgraded to a post-tropical storm. In Henderson, crews carried out 3 swift-water rescues on Friday, October 9, and one person pulled from a wash near Lake Mead Parkway went into cardiac arrest. California is pre-positioning more than 4 million sandbags to prepare for further flooding. In this video, we examine the flooding on the Las Vegas Strip, the rescues in Henderson, the road closures, and what the storm left behind in Nevada and Arizona. This channel covers natural disasters and extreme weather events as they develop, using sourced reporting and avoiding unsupported speculation.
