After losing 3 jobs in real estate due to multiple layoffs after Covid — as a single mom paying every bill on my own, over 40, when that's supposed to make it harder to bounce back — I started rebuilding, not by grinding harder, but by editing my life strategically. For about eight years prior, I put much of my spare time and energy into dating without much to show for it. About two years ago, I shifted into a "level up" mindset: ✄ cutting what wasn't working that included cutting out the dating activities that led to nothing. ✔ I focused on keeping what mattered which included keeping my time. Time I saved every other kid-free weekend, getting dressed, doing my hair and nails at home by choosing not to date, at least for this season of my life. ✔ building multiple sources of income on my own terms with all said spare time I found. ✔ being selective about who gets my time, and investing some of that spare time back into myself, my family, and the loyal friends in my life.
