“On My Mind” — Track 10 from Homemade

This song is about spending time with my dad. We had some incredible adventures together, especially the sailing trips when it was just the two of us. We’d sail from Mount Desert Island, Maine, all the way down to Riverside, Connecticut. I used to love passing through the Cape Cod Canal, watching the world go by from the boat. There’s nothing like a cup of tea out at sea. Something about the salt air and being on the water makes it taste better. When I think about those trips now, I realize how special that time with my dad was. Those memories have stayed with me, and they’re a big part of what inspired “On My Mind.”
