Birding Coastal North Carolina 2022

A quick trip to coastal North Carolina, primarily to take our first North Atlantic pelagic(s). Our first trip is beyond our dreams with two rarities, one featured in this video. Our second is cancelled due unfavorable winds which drive pelagic birds towards the Outer Banks. We end up rescuing a Great Shearwater from a road on the day we should be watching them further out at sea. Our great friend North Carolina birder, Audrey Whitlock, joins us earlier than expected due to our cancelled trip. Dennis Paulson, friend and renowned authority on birds and dragonflies (as well as other creatures), corrected a couple IDs post-production. The labelled Rat Snake is actually a Black Racer and the labelled Eastern Pondhawk (male) is a Great Blue Skimmer. Thanks Dennis!
