True crime is disturbing enough. But when it happens inside a hospital, where patients are supposed to be safe and the person harming them is wearing a white coat, it becomes something else entirely. We start with Michael Swango, a physician and convicted murderer who has been linked to as many as 60 patient and coworker deaths. His story includes suspicious deaths at Ohio State, arsenic poisoned coffee, forged credentials, a new identity, and another medical job overseas. Somehow, a trail of deaths and red flags still did not stop hospital after hospital from letting him back near patients. We break down one of the most disturbing medical serial killer cases and the systems that repeatedly failed to protect people. Then Karlie revisits the Lucy Letby trial after watching the documentary and realizing how different the evidence can look through a nurse’s eyes. We examine the shift chart, the insulin cases, the journal entries, the Facebook searches, the lack of eyewitness or surveillance evidence discussed in the documentary, and the expert witnesses the defense did not call.
