Thru-hiking Te Araroa 2025/26 – Day 36

Today was a big day we would finally hike back to Auckland, the place where we'd set off on our adventure from 36 days ago. It was a nice walk through the suburbs and along the coastline. Our highlight was the Auckland oldies-trampimg club that we hiked with for a few kms. We were both equally thrilled of eachother and enjoyed some good chats with them. Soon the first skyscrapers came into view and around 4 om we arrived at the port in Devonport from where we took the ferry over to Auckland CBD. We have made it!
