‘24-Hour Colour Spectrum’ is a variable art installation that anyone with a screen and access to YouTube can experience. The artwork explores the intersection of chromatherapy, slow art and spatial optimisation.
Each piece in this 24-part series spans 60 minutes, slowly fading from one hue into the next. It circles through the visible spectrum with the intention to transform both the physical and emotional atmosphere of your preferred environment. It can be enjoyed vertically or horizontally, or on any shaped screen for that matter, and it’s a great way to vibe (literally) with other people.
PIECE 04/24: ORANGE
Primary Hue: Orange (#FF8C00) to Amber (#FFBF00)
Intended Benefit: Uplifting spatial atmosphere, fostering enthusiasm, and encouraging open emotional expression.
Duration: 1 Hour continuous colour fade (silent).

OPTIMAL VIEWING & SPATIAL SETUP
To best experience this piece as ambient light therapy in your space:
1. Display full-screen on a television, display, or projector.
2. Select 4K / 2160p in the YouTube settings for seamless gradient depth.
3. Turn off TV "Eco Mode", "Auto-Brightness", or dynamic ambient contrast settings to prevent automated backlight shifts.
4. Disable "Local Dimming" if using an LED panel to avoid visual haloing during subtle colour transitions.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This project transforms screens, normally sources of friction and stimulation, into quiet, contemplative light sources that harmonise physical environments.
Light and colour frequencies act directly on the human nervous system and circadian biology. Warm spectrums can invigorate energy and encourage emotional release, green tones restore balance and soothe baseline stress, while deep blue and violet frequencies quiet an overactive mind. By letting these colour transitions unfold across a full hour, the artwork invites a practice of ‘Slow Art’—allowing light to gently shift your mood and spatial atmosphere without demanding your active attention.
ADVERTISEMENT-FREE FOREVER
To preserve the peaceful, restorative integrity of this experience, this series will remain 100% advertisement-free forever. No mid-roll interruptions, no sponsored breaks, and no dynamic ad pop-ups, ever.
