56 MPH on the first outing—without installing the optional speed pinion! My ARRMA Infraction 3S made a strong first impression, but the next run never got started: the steering servo had already quit. I finally opened this one in anticipation of the Infraction Grom. In this video, we unbox it, look under the body, take it out for its initial street run and speed test, then get into the steering troubleshooting afterward. I wasn’t chasing the advertised 65+ MPH because I hadn’t fitted the speed pinion. Even with a short stretch and only a second or two at full throttle, it pulled 56 MPH with ease. I believe the out-of-box gearing has more to give, but that still needs another test. After the first outing, the throttle still worked but the steering didn’t. Testing the receiver channels and plugging in another servo narrowed it down to the original servo. Then I broke the servo saver while trying to remove it—separate from the servo failure itself. A promising first drive, followed by an unexpected trip to the bench. That’s how this Infraction’s first day went at OrCo RC Lab! Have you had a stock servo fail this early? And what speed have you reached with your Infraction 3S before installing the speed pinion? Let me know in the comments.
