1955 Ford F100 - Our Hellcat boosted 5.3 LS got headers, and we finished the transmission mount.

The "new to me" 4L80E transmission, which is quite different than the original 4L60 needed a little bit of bell housing modification to get our new long tube headers in place. It was nice that the headers were for a Trailblazer 5.3, so they technically bolted right in once the bell housing was modified. The Trailblazers and Envoys never had 4L80s, so we made it a bit more interesting for sure. I added a Corvette style water pump with the output tube facing forward. This is necessary for the the supercharger application. I also cleaned all the coil packs and brackets before bolting them down to the top of the valve covers. It is really starting to look like a completed engine. Because I painted the engine without completely covering every hole, I took some extra time to run a tap through the holes in the heads before bolting down my ICT Billet ‪@ICTBillet‬ Hellcat to LS adapter plates. I highly advise doing what I did as the threads are so much cleaner. So, before I left for the day, I decided to get the truck up on the lift to assess the transmission mount. Because the 4L80 is longer than the original transmission, I had to fabricate a new transmission mount. I used the old 4L60 mounting bracket, and with a bit of cutting and grinding, I was able to retain the rubber mounting position of the 4L80. A bit of welding and a well positioned gusset made the transmission mount a fast process. Success and on to the next part.
