I LOVE Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. But we need to talk about these damn glitches. 😂 I've dealt with the smaller stuff: brief freezes, stuttering and the occasional weird moment. Then things started getting more serious. I've had missions stopped because I suddenly couldn't interact with a required computer or objective. I've now had my Synth companions seemingly go from perfectly healthy to INSTANT KIA on TWO separate occasions. But somehow... THE MURPH MAN ‪@coalscomicscorner‬ HAS IT WORSE. 😭 During his Mission 4-3 run, Murph was in the middle of the FINAL BATTLE when FTE2 decided: “That's enough gaming for you.” 💥 CRASH. Entire run gone. That finally made me start digging. My original question was: Is Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 simply pushing Unreal Engine too hard? Apparently, it's not that simple. FTE2 was built using Unreal Engine 4.27, rather than Unreal Engine 5. But using UE4.27 by itself doesn't prove that's what's causing these problems. And Cold Iron clearly knows there's work to do. The developers have already acknowledged issues involving performance, stability, crashes, stuttering, interaction problems and mission progression, and recent patches have targeted several of them. So this isn't me declaring: “OLD ENGINE = BAD GAME.” Far from it. I'm still having a BLAST with FTE2. This is me asking: What the hell is happening under the hood—and can the patches get this thing running the way it should? Because getting killed by Xenos? Fine. Getting killed by Heavy Synths? Fine. Getting killed because THE GAME DECIDED ALPHA NO LONGER EXISTS?! We've got a problem. 😂 And Murph losing Mission 4-3 during the final battle to a crash? That's just cruel.
